Please be punctual. If you cannot make it in time, we may not serve you or ask you to wait until we can.

What your child wears changes by age

Shichi-Go-San dress differs for ages 3, 5 and 7 — please check your child's age and height first.

AgeStyleApproximate height
Girls, age 3 A hifu (sleeveless coat) worn over the kimono. No obi to tie, so it's easy even for a small child. 85–105cm
Boys, age 3 A hifu, same as girls. No hakama. Up to 99cm
Boys, age 5 Kimono with hakama, finished with a haori cord and kaiken (ornamental dagger) for a sharp, formal look. 100–120cm
Girls, age 7 Kimono with a full obi — the same formal style as an adult, complete with hakoseko, fan and shigoki sash. 105–125cm

All kimonos are already altered to fit a child's proportions. Please let us know your child's height when you reserve, and we'll fit the right size and adjust it further for you.

Good to Know Before You Visit

  • There's nothing you need to bring — just come as you are.
  • Dressing takes about 30 minutes and hair styling about 30 minutes. Including time to choose the kimono, please allow 1 to 1.5 hours from arrival to departure.
  • Please return by 17:30 on the day of your rental, or free of charge by 13:00 the next day.
  • Shichi-Go-San kimono rental is in-store only — we're not able to offer home delivery, since each child's kimono needs to be fitted and altered in person.
  • Late October through mid-November is our busiest season, with the least availability of the year. If your date is set, we recommend reserving early, especially for weekends and auspicious days.
  • Don't worry about everyday wear — normal marks from makeup, rain, mud, or light food spills are already covered by the cleaning fee included in your rental.

About Stains & Damage

  • Everyday wear (makeup, rain, mud, light food spills) is already included in your rental — no need to worry.
  • Only in the case of major staining or damage would a repair fee apply, depending on the item's condition.

If this happens, please let us know as soon as possible.

Compensation Guide
Damage beyond repair Flat fee: 50,000 yen
Repairable damage 5,000–10,000 yen
  • Damage beyond repair
Large wine or blood stains that a specialist cannot restore, or tears in the fabric that cannot be repaired.
  • Repairable damage
Large stains or a loose hem that can be professionally repaired — the actual repair cost will apply.
